This site sits on the Northern aspect of the Geraldine Downs with expansive views over the Canterbury Plains and the Southern Alps. The clients were experienced with the design and build process and had some definite ideas when they approached JPA Ltd. They wanted a strong use of timber, a design that sat well into the landscape and one that utilised the amazing views from the site. The large mature trees that cover a large potion of the overall site were to remain. The main spur that ran down the site was the ideal siting for the house and JPA Ltd used this landform to generate the design of the roof and to settle the house into the landscape.
