The Crossing is a well-known landmark in Geraldine and although it started out as a family home it had operated as a function centre and church camp for the past 20-30 years. The house was in need of some restoration as both the maintenance hadn't been kept up but also many little alterations and additions had occurred over the years.  Rooms had been divided into toilets and fire doors had been installed to hallways. A lot of character did remain but the whole house needed some love and care. With the use of original photos of the homestead the owners set about restoring the house to its former glory, while making it comfortable for modern living. Central heating was installed throughout, fire places restored to original (although not for use), rooms were reinstated and the structural stability of a double brick home was addressed. A fantastic family home has been the result of a lot of historic research and careful workmanship.
